Pinterest Giveaway: Pin the ABCs for Literacy Month to win a $100 HPB gift card!

September is National Literacy Month, and we at Half Price Books have been literacy advocates since 1972. We believe that every person deserves the opportunity to learn to love books, which brings us back to they basics of reading: The ABCs, of course!

Watch out for a variety of ABC-themed posts on our blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr -- but what we're really excited about is our ABC-themed PINTEREST GIVEAWAY!

Here are the details:

Got it? Check out this Harry Potter-themed sample board for inspiration, and start thinking about what you want YOUR theme to be. As long as you hit A-Z, there are absolutely no restrictions on theme -- so you could do something inherently Pinteresty like Home ("B" is for (Wing) Back Chair, "C" is for Chevron), or Food ("B" is for Berry Pie, "C" is for Chevre Tart), or you could do a fun theme like Supervillains ("B" is for Bane, "C" is for Callisto) or Wes Anderson Filmography ("B" is for Bill Murray, "C" is for Chas Tenenbaum).

Disclaimer: Before you partake in the contest, be sure that you read and are in compliance with the Pinterest Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy. Don’t pin material that you think might be copyrighted, and be sure to credit the sources of all the content you find.

Cool? Click here to get started! Let us know if you have any questions in the comments, or email us at besocial@hpb.com.

Thanks! Can't wait to see everyone's boards!

Finally slowing down in life to be able to read again. Love reading a good book and passing it on to others.

Can you enter more than one board?

Hi Kelsie, yes! You can enter as many boards as you'd like. Glad you're having fun with it! ~kd

Would a board still qualify if I didn't tag every pin? While in the process of making my board I attempted to tag each pin but was blocked by Pinterest from further tagging because of potential spamming. Which I wasn't spamming but it seemed to think I was. :/

@Roxanne -- That does sound weird! Go ahead and post your URL in the comments on the contest pin & we'll take a look at it. A for effort :) http://pinterest.com/pin/245305510924367511/ ~kd
