A Very Zooey Christmas
She's everywhere! She's everywhere! Yes, Zooey Deschanel is on your TV in Fox's New Girl, in your movie theaters with Paul Rudd in Our Idiot Brother, and, this Christmas, she's spinning around your record player (or being converted from a series of 1s and 0s on your MP3-whatzits) on A Very She & Him Christmas.
Deschanel and musical cohort M. Ward proudly present their third album that includes numerous holiday classics such as "The Christmas Waltz," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Baby It's Cold Outside," and many others as well as their original "Christmas Day."
Overall, the album is very enjoyable though plodding at times. However, Deschanel's voice never falters and reminds me of some of the ballad singers of the 50s and 60s. Plus M. Ward's always a musical interest. I'll be adding it to my Christmas mix though it falls short of taking the top spot in my holiday playlist. That honor still goes to Sufjan Steven's Songs for Christmas.
Ok. Now the REAL reason for this post. Having had to endure Kristen D's post "An Ode to Robert Pattinson," I've been plotting my retort, and it comes in the form of "An Ode to Zooey Deschanel." Enjoy.

That is actually ice cream, not cereal. Still cute though. ;)
